Lightning Talks

  1. Growing RDM Support (Beth Woods, RCDM UGA) – The University of Georgia established a new unit within the UGA Libraries to support research data management needs across the institution. This lightning talk will highlight the founding of a new office, current services, and emerging opportunities.
  2. Consulting RDM (Christian Riepl, ITG LMU / Martin Spenger, UB LMU) – The LMU Center for Digital Humanities (ITG) and University Library LMU have established a central service point for research data management in the Digital Humanities. This lightning talk will highlight the services, workflows and policies that are part of the service point. Download PDF-File.

RDM Networking (Pauline AldenhövelMartin Spenger, UB LMU) – By continuing the previous talk, this part will show how expanding the RDM services from the Humanities to other disciplines is done by the RDM Information at University Library LMU. Highlighting the services and networks, you will get an overview how many different players are involved in the complex topic of research data managemen. Download PDF-File.
  4. Technical Components of RDM (Jaime PenagosMartin Spenger, UB LMU) – Supporting infrastructure is an important part of research data management. The central repository structures at LMU will be highlighted in this talk as well as additional tools (e.g. research data management planner, metadata generator) that help researchers manage their data.   5. Open Access at UGA (Camila Lívio, RCDM UGA) – This talk will showcase current trends in open access at UGA and highlight the relevance of documentation to ensure appropriate project management. Download PDF-File.
